Langenhagen, Germany, September 2008
Industry sales figures by InfoSource, an independent market research organisation, show that Konica Minolta strengthened its position in the segment of full-colour multifunctional printing systems (MFPs) in the first half of 2008: the company is now number one in both Western and Eastern Europe. While climbing back to the top of the Western European market Konica Minolta has successfully defended its pole position in Eastern Europe.
Developments in Germany and France match Konica Minolta’s excellent performance on the European full colour printing market, the InfoSource study reveals. While remaining number one in the German market, the company could increase its sales in France and take over the lead in this market as well. In Scandinavia, Konica Minolta’s colour devices proved to be top performers, too. Last years’ results established the company as second-ranking player in Norway’s full colour market and it took third place in Denmark. This year, Konica Minolta’s print systems reached number one in both countries. In Sweden, Konica Minolta even climbed from fourth to first place.
In colour category 4 (30-49 ppm), the Konica Minolta bizhub C353 was the best-selling device Europe-wide. In colour category 3 (20-29 ppm), the company is also clearly leading the market: the bizhub C253 ranked first and the bizhub C203 came in third in the same sales ranking. And in colour category 1 (0-9 ppm), nearly thirty percent of the market went to the bizhub C10, making it number two in the first half of 2008.
"We are obviously very proud of these results," says Olaf Lorenz, General Manager International Marketing Division, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. "The InfoSource figures clearly document our new position as European market leader in the colour printing and copying segment. And they provide recognition of our commitment and investment in colour quality through continuous efforts to improve our technologies and set new standards in this sector."
