With the FograCert "Validation Printing System" the Konica Minolta bizhub PRO C6501 verifies dependable quality. The unique combination of the bizhub PRO C6501, the EFI Fiery Controller IC-305, the Konica Minolta Color Care application and Konica Minolta’s SemiGloss Reference Paper ensures that prints match the standard certificated by Fogra. This well-suited team of hardware, controller, software and paper gives central reprographic departments (CRDs) and commercial printers (CPs) the confidence to deliver highest print quality and reliability with Konica Minolta print solutions.

Based on ISO 12647, which sets measurable process standard criteria for different printing processes such as sheet and web offset printing, coldset printing (newsprint), flexographic printing and digital printing, the FograCert Validation Printing System (VPS), defines exactly what "validation prints" must look like. The Konica Minolta bizhub PRO C6501 series meets all of the required criteria. Well arranged, these factors deliver a certificated printout. In detail, the system matches the test requirements in various segments such as substrate colour and gloss, permanence and light fastness, fading, rub resistance, colour accuracy, homogeneity and consistency. Besides further relevant compliances with the Fogra standards, the bizhub PRO C6501 system also features PDF/X conformance.

The hardware part of the elements that make up the basis of the FograCert VPS is the bizhub PRO C6501 series. It offers reliable and flexible productivity. With a print speed of 65 pages per minute, the systems offer a large throughput and heavy duty cycle. Furthermore, impressive media flexibility ensures that CRDs and CPs can meet the most diverse requests in terms of print jobs: paper formats from A5 to A3+ (330 x 487 mm) with weights ranging from 64 to 300 gsm. The devices come with Konica Minolta proprietary Simitri HD high definition polymerised toner. The environmentally friendly toner ensures fine lines and superb image quality. Another integral part of all digital colour printing systems is the S.E.A.D. technology, Konica Minolta’s internally developed screen-enhancing active digital processing technology. This proprietary technology also does its share to improve image quality, colour consistency and sharpness of text.

The second component in the line-up that led to the Fogra certification, the EFI Fiery Controller IC-305, stands for brilliant print results and optimised workflow solutions. Achieving high-quality and standardised colour is critical in many businesses. One component of the controller, the EFI Fiery ColorWise, produces precise, consistent colour for any document. For extreme colour requirements, the optional Fiery Graphic Arts Packages group together expert tools for managing colour, proofing, and controlling workflow. Last but not least, the intuitive WYSIWYG interface from another controller’s component, the EFI Command WorkStation, simplifies complex jobs regardless of the operator’s skill level. It automates workflow and centralises the management of all print jobs.

Konica Minolta would not deserve its leading role in colour if the company did not offer a proprietary tool that sets a certain quality standard. The Konica Minolta Color Care package is the third component that has paved the way to Fogra certification. It comprises a pre-determined installation process that follows a compulsory procedure and gives a guarantee of achieving and maintaining a certain level of colour quality for any Konica Minolta colour device that it covers. Also included is a professional service offering to ensure that within the scope of the system even the most exceptional print quality demands are satisfied. Konica Minolta Color Care includes measurement and control tools for print output, creates high-quality ICC printer profiles, offers tools for further refinement and optimises these profiles.
