Konica Minolta announces the availability of an external Fiery controller for the bizhub PRO C6500 which boasts the very latest technology and security features. The Fiery IC-303 controller will provide an intuitive interface as well as reduce job turn around times and bottlenecks, by allowing new files to be ripped while others are printing. The new technology will also provide protection for corporate documents and against unauthorised operations.

Previously only available on the enhanced version of the bizhub PRO C6500, the bizhub PRO C6500e, the Fiery controller IC-303 improves the already comprehensive functionalities of the bizhub PRO C6500, providing a natural and user-friendly interface between operator and printer.  The introduction of the new Fiery technology means that the device can incorporate Fiery ColourWise, which offers an in-RIP colour management system to achieve high colour quality results.

As well as sporting upgraded technology, the IC-303 includes extensive security features designed to eliminate actions not permitted by unauthorised users and protect all corporate information. To ensure the very latest protection, Real-Time Fiery System software and Microsoft XPe updates have also been implemented through EFI WebTools.
For additional peace of mind, users can rest assured that the bizhub PRO C6500 is also validated by Common Criteria (CC) that meets the latest ISO 15408 EAL3 security standards. Common Criteria is the internationally recognized standard for IT security testing and guarantees that all data stored within the device remains confidential.

The bizhub PRO C6500 is suitable for heavy-duty production, capable of handling up to 300,000 A4 sheets per month.  The device has an output capacity of up to 65 pages per minute, in both full colour and black and white. The bizhub PRO C6500 is also able to cope with weights up to 300 g/m2, provides a full and flexible range of printing choices and is still capable of printing on paper, card, or coated stock.

The complete administrator tool kit for the updated bizhub PRO C6500 includes; IP filtering, port blocking, secure erasing of documents stored and an optional removable hard disk drive.  It also provides software for user authentication, secure printing and the encryption of critical information.
