Konica Minolta’s new magicolors combine high quality colour with economic efficiency

Langenhagen, Germany, June 2008

When Konica Minolta magicolor 5650EN and magicolor 5670EN come out on the market, customers will get the best of two worlds: outstanding, long-lasting colour and economic use – a combination users have long considered mutually exclusive. And they get colour fast with the magicolor 5650EN and magicolor 5670EN boasting a print speed of 30 and 35 pages per minute respectively. Since the new magicolors also offer easy connectivity and countless applications, they are the perfect solution for performing the colour printing tasks of workgroups and small business teams.

“With our magicolor 5650EN and magicolor 5670EN, small business teams and workgroups are able to produce a wide variety of sophisticated documents in-house, both in colour and black and white,” says Christina Stubinski, Product Manager Printer of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. “Whether they are producing reports in colour, professional business cards or envelopes – users can be confident that our ‘colour geniuses’ deliver what they want promptly and reliably without straining their budget.”

It is Konica Minolta’s award-winning Simitri HD toner that ensures brilliant, long-lasting colours on each and every print produced on magicolor 5650EN and magicolor 5670EN. Not only does the Simitri HD toner give the user crisp and clear printing results down to minutest details, it also withstands UV light, thereby offering dependable fade resistance. Peeling around the edges – formerly a common annoyance among professionals and laymen alike – has been eliminated. Furthermore, Simitri HD toner allows users to reduce energy consumption by as much as 15%, requiring lower fusing temperatures than average toners.

By opting for Konica Minolta’s magicolor 5650EN and magicolor 5670EN, users save in other ways as well: high-quality, long-lasting colour and high yield cease to be a contradiction. Users can choose between three print resolution settings to match their requirements and budget: Economy Mode is suitable for mixed printouts, cutting down toner consumption for images and graphics by up to 50% while producing sharp printed text. Without affecting the print speed of 30 and 35 colour pages per minute respectively, the High-Quality Mode offers PhotoART-9600TM (600x600x4-bit contone) resolution. This setting delivers fine printing results with remarkably differentiated and subtle gradients. For ultra-fine image quality, the Glossy Mode pitches the control of the toner to an adherence up to 250%.

In terms of flexibility, the magicolor 5650EN and magicolor 5670EN have much more to offer than other, similar devices. The attractive range of options includes two additional lower paper feeders, duplexer, hard disc and staple finisher, the last of which is rarely found in this class. By upgrading the system with one or two optional lower paper feeders, a maximum paper capacity of 1,600 sheets can be achieved. The standard multi-manual feed tray is designed to accommodate a variety of paper sizes ranging from A5 to banner format (216 x 1,200 mm).

Thanks to the standard application of PCL6 and PostScript3, Konica Minolta’s magicolor 5650EN and magicolor 5670EN fit into almost any office environment. Adding an optional hard disc, both printers even support the XPS file format from Windows Vista. To provide unlimited and easy printer access from USB memory sticks or digital cameras there is PictBridge via which PDF, JPEG, TIFF and XPS file formats can be easily printed. Users can choose between an optional hard disc or Compact Flash Card to support PictBridge. For support of Microsoft’s XPS files the optional hard disc is required.

“In addition to speedy and outstanding colour printing, our magicolor 5650EN and magicolor 5670EN are conventient and user-friendly,” Christina Stubinski concludes. “Numerous standard features ensure this customer experience, but users can tailor the devices to their individual needs and requirements as well.”
